Ren's 'Tale of Jenny and Screech' exclusive live performance
Ren Gill, aka Ren, organised an exclusive and free live performance in a secret and undisclosed location in Brighton on his trilogy 'The Tale of Jenny and Screech'.
During the night of the 19 of August 2022, A wall covered in graffiti and a small square in the centre of Brighton became a theater that housed a few hundred people, some who climbed on the edges to have a view from above as if those walls were stands.
The event was recorded and posted live on Twitch and YouTube, announced a week earlier by Ren on multiple platforms including Discord and Facebook. The performance was enveloped in an extremely well-created atmosphere, the location of the 'stage' remained secret to the public who were gathered at the gates of the Brighton train station and led to the performance site by two masked men with balaclavas who welcomed the crowd since 8:40 pm.
On the way to the location, a body belonging to the fictional character of Jenny was set up, illuminated by the sirens of a police car and closed to the public by tape to mark the crime scene. The show lasted about half an hour and at the end of it the crowd was headed to a CD stand for the deluxe version of The Tale of Jenny and Screech and signed copies as well as photos with the artist. As an interlude between the three pieces, Ren inserted reflections and readings that led to the next piece.
An intimate performance available on Ren's official YouTube channel that has given a unique experience to those who have lived it, creating the personification of a community and the image of an artist born on the street who now, after flourishing, returns to those same streets in Brighton to share his art.
